Week 8 : 01/13 - 01/19

I am sure that we all had a good rest and are ready to go for the next 8 weeks . First, the old announcements are archived and placed in Course Content. Unlike the first 8 weeks the approach for the rest of the term will be a little different.

The first 7 weeks, we have been focusing on how to use MS publisher, basic design concepts, and basic graphics. The second half will focus more on applying what we learned to projects.

There will be a little bit of a schedule change. We will be starting to work on the Brochure from this week. Please see the Course Schedule.

The remaining activities we will be doing after week 8 are; besides conference questions and weekly assignments,

1. Design a brochure (project 3)
2. Quiz 2
3. Proctored exam
4. Design a newsletter as a group

The next three weeks we will be working on a brochure. First, you need to:

1. Read the Project 3 criteria under Course Content.
2. Gather information you would like to put on the inside panel.
3. Categorize the information based on the most important to the least important.
4. Prepare the graphics you would like to use.

Week 8 Objectives:

The students will be able to:

• Evaluate brochure front panels.
• Create a brochure using a wizard.
• Distinguish balanced and non-balanced placement.

• Read lecture 7.
• Read Publisher P3: PUB 3.6 - 3.58.
• Participate in Conference 6
• Do Assignment 6
